#1 KEYWORD RESEARCH
WHAT IS KEYWORD RESEARCH?
Extensive keyword research is the foundation of your SEO campaign, but what exactly is keyword research and why is it so important?
What is keyword research?
Keyword research is the search for meaningful keywords for which your website should be optimized, or rather: for which your page should be displayed.
The aim of keyword analysis is to be displayed in the top 5 of Google search results (SERPs) for the right keywords and keyword combinations , because a good placement in the search results will give you more traffic on your website.
A comprehensive keyword analysis is the basis for successful SEO (OnPage) optimization and should therefore not be underestimated.
Nothing works in SEO without search terms. In this step, you select the most important and relevant keywords for which your site should rank.
You need per website (subpage of your whole website)
- only one focus keyword
- and 2-4 secondary keywords
The focus keyword (also called main keyword or primary keyword) should have a higher search volume because it is the keyword for which your site should primarily rank.
Examples of main keywords (shorttail keywords):
- search engine optimization
- SEO tools
- On-Page SEO
- Google SiteKit
Secondary keywords are refinements or subtopics (subtopics) of the main keyword. Secondary keywords are in most cases long tail keywords .
Longtail is the English term for “long tail”. In the SEO area, “long-tail keywords” mean search terms that have a lower search volume and are a bit more specific. These keywords are searched for less frequently. They are less competitive, but in many cases “more effective”. This includes, for example, combinations of several keywords. Examples of secondary keywords (long-tail keywords):
- Free backlink analysis tools
- Ranking Checker Tools Free
- Set up Google Site Kit for WordPress

#2 ANALYZE SEARCH INTENT
WHAT IS SEARCH INTENT AND HOW DO I FIND OUT SEARCH INTENT?
The search intention (search intent or user intent) is not only an essential ranking factor, but a ranking requirement!
Have you already done extensive keyword research and found the most relevant keywords? In this step, you decide which page should rank for which keyword. You roughly differentiate between commercial keywords and information keywords. For each keyword, think: “What does the user expect from the search query?” You have to know in advance what the user wants to achieve with the request. What is the intent behind the search query?
If there is a purchase intention behind it, then you can rank with a commercial keyword (example: “men’s jewelry”).
However, behind the keyword “modern living ideas” there is no (or no) intention to buy and is therefore an informational keyword . The seeker would like to be informed and inspired and gain impressions (images).
The keyword “breast milk jewelry” is a “mixed keyword”. Some users would like to find out for the first time “What is breast milk jewelry?” and others want to see products or a shop category with several products. In this case, tact is required.
How can I find out the search intent?
The simplest method is to look at the Google SERPs, i.e. the Google search results themselves. Search for the keyword for which you want to optimize the content of your site and look at what types of search results are displayed for your search term. Focus on the top 10.
If mainly shops, category pages or products are displayed, you can assume that it is a commercial keyword. If photos or “Featured Snippets” are displayed, it can be assumed that it is an informational keyword (Informational Keyword).
Hitting the search intent is a ranking requirement!

#3 PLAN PAGE STRUCTURE

#4 WRITING SEO TEXTS & DESIGNING CONTENT
“So now just add a few keywords!?”
No, it’s not enough to just smack a few hundred words onto your page, rattle off some bla-bla-bla-bla-blah and pop in a few keywords. You should do good research for your content . Your content should cover all important questions and topics of the user and be complete . The information should be based on facts and, above all, be up to date. Content should be easy to read, easy to consume, and well- organized :
- short, precise sentences
- subheadings
- Avoid mistakes (grammar and spelling)
- short paragraphs
- good structuring
When it comes to content design , make sure that your content is lovingly designed :
- Insert graphics, tables, statistics
- Use appropriate photos and videos
Your SEO texts should be of high quality, complete and unique
#5 GOOGLE SNIPPET OPTIMIZATION
WHAT IS GOOGLE SNIPPET OPTIMIZATION? WHAT ARE SERP SNIPPETS?
Snippet Optimization is one of the basics of SEO, but what is Snippet Optimization?
In the Google search results, small text excerpts are displayed next to (or above and below) the URL of the website, namely a headline called the title tag and a short description, the meta description.
A meta description is a short descriptive text that summarizes the content of an HTML document for search engines. Google uses this short description together with the meta title (or title tag) for the Google snippet.
The Google snippets (or SERP snippets) expose themselves
- Title tag (heading) and
- Meta Description
together.
The title tag is displayed above the website’s URL, the meta description is displayed below the URL.
The Google snippet (title tag + meta description) should convey at a glance what the page is about and what content is on the website.
Google snippet is generated depending on the search term and displayed on the search results page (SERP). The Google snippet is the searcher’s first point of contact with your website in the Google SERPs and should accordingly encourage them to click.
You can also adjust and optimize the Google snippet manually. By optimizing the SERP snippets, you can increase the click rate and thus improve your Google rankings (placements) .
There are only two things you can do wrong: quit or not even start!
