DIY Painting Tips: How To – get the right equipment

Planning to get your home painted on your own? Fair enough but before you set to the task, there are a few additional details that you may want to check out first. You need to make sure that your home is cleaned, with the surface removed of all debris. Now that you are ready to get started – you may first want to work out which sort of paint you intend to apply, oil-based or water-based. Both have their pros and cons, you would need to decide which sort to opt for.

Selecting the right paint

Apart from paintbrushes, you would also require paint rollers. Just make sure that you select the right ones for your DIY project. Keep in mind that you must get top-of-the-line paint rollers. Do not penny-pinch when it comes to purchasing your supplies, chances are that some of the rollers are bound to be a tad expensive but well worth it. You can opt for rollers with woven fabric. The good thing about this is that they do not shed and as such, you can count on a perfect finish and get the job done fast. Or if you need to paint over a rough wall, then you can opt for rollers made with semi-knitted fabric. The good thing about this one is that it will not drip unnecessarily and should be able to retain a good amount of paint, as you use it to paint the wall.
